SHIVAKUMAR J. NYAMATHI
Shivakumar J. Nyamathi graduated in Civil Engineering from Karnataka University (1986), obtained Master of Technology in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering from KREC-Surathkal, Mangalore University (1989) and Master of Science in Resources Engineering from Karlsruhe University, Germany under DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Fellowship (1993-95). Presently, he is pursuing Doctor of Philosophy at NITK-Surathkal under Government of India (AICTE-QIP) fellowship on the topic “Characterizing Hydrological Response of Coastal Humid Tropical Wetland.” He has been recently awarded for “Gratis Membership Program” of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS: www.sws.org) for four years (2004-2007).
He started his career as Lecturer at STJIT, Karnataka University (1986-87). After his M.Tech, he served at REC-Bhalki (1989) and subsequently, joined WIT-Solapur as Lecture in 1989. Since 1998, he is serving as a Faculty of Engineering-Civil, Bangalore University. He has attended number of national and international (Germany, Italy, India) Symposium/ Conference/ Seminar/ Workshop. He has guided two Masters Dissertations. He has 10 National and 10 International (Canada, Netherlands, UK, and India) publications in proceedings of Symposium/ conference/ seminar/ workshop/ research bulletin.
He is having Life membership of IAH-Roorkee, ISTE-New Delhi, DAAD-New Delhi/Bonn, IWZ-Tubingen/Germany, ISRS-Dehradun, and MIE-Calcutta. He is also a member of Technical co-ordination committee for Bio-Diversity Park and Artificial Groundwater Recharge Project (Sponsored by CGWB), Jnanabharathi Campus, Bangalore University.
