I went back over the e-mails that your mother sent to me,
and I have come up with a letter, her eldest son sent to
your mother ( she never mentioned his name ) for mothers day 1998
which I will send along on the bottom of this letter.

Your Mother sent me a Canadian leaf and a ten cent Canadian coin,
which I have kept together in a place I have for them in
the cupboard that I have here in my study,
with the note that she sent along with them still attached.
The note said this is the Canadian maple leaf and a ten cent coin,
          your friend Donna.

Here is the Letter that I mentioned early,

Mom, as I have grown , so have my appreciation and love for you.

Time flies, everyone says, its frightening sometimes
to look in the mirror and see the evidence of that.
So often, we don't take a moment to say what is in our hearts,
and then when it's too late, we wish we had.
I'm taking a moment now, Mom, to tell you this...
When I was a child, there was so much I couldn't understand,
like how hard you worked and how much you sacrificed for our family.
There were dreams you had to put on hold
and dreams that never came true.
You must have felt frustrated sometimes, no doubt,
and at times even full of despair.
Yet you never gave less than your best to us.
You didn't have an exciting career or beautiful clothes.
You never travelled the world or drove a fancy car.
Every day, you looked after us, worried about us,
fed us, and loved us, without expecting anything in return.
You see Mom, I now know and understand
that you actually gave me two lives:
          My own . . . and Yours .

I have tried to type this, the way that it was received on the e-mail sent to me, that I received from your mother, on the 5 / 11 / 98. I also hope that it brings back HAPPY memories for your mother of that day.

I thought that it was a beautiful sentiment sent from your brother to your mother, and I know that your mother would be proud to have such loving children, who go to this much trouble to try and make her life contented.

Please give Our Warmest Regards to Your Mother For this coming Mothers day, and tell her that We hope that she enjoys a very Happy Mothers day, in the bosom of her family.

          Our best to your mother

          Your Aussie Mates

          Alan and Dorothy
