Discography
this was the first cd we released properly. The songs were recorded in October 2002, just after 'Susan' and 'Structural Damage @ no. 53' were written, though it didnt see release until Andrew's farewell show in September the next year. Also recorded at this time were 'Joel Rothman' 'I Dream of Andy' and 'Let's all make love in my room tonite'. Together these 5 were going to be an EP called 'Party at Nates!'. There are a few tapes of all five songs around but the cds just have the two. Later copies (from about 25 onwards) had the four-track version of '(i saw you hiding in the) Vestibule' on aswell. NB 'Wendy Ate the Grapes' was written to be included on this cd but we werent sure if it would stand up to repeated listens as it was only written a couple of days before the cd was made.

2. Susan
(3. [i saw you hiding in the] Vestibule)
in the first two years of SEF various recordings got out. Firstly we were included on a cd to coincide with the Cotteridge Park festival in 2001. Our songs were 'First Wives Club' and an early Tom Grant composition 'the Walkie Talkie Song'. The cds were unmarked and the recordings are pretty bad so it's unlikely you'll stumble across copies of these cds, but if you do we're tracks 3+4 I think. Following Tom Grant's departure we recorded all the new songs with David on a tape player, then we made some 8 track recordings in October 2001. These recordings were given out to lots of people at the time and mostly include 1. All Here in my Memory 2. First Wives Club .3. Pig Eats Man .4. 70s Green .5. In the Fridge .6. Some Were Devils .7. Life With Madge. For more on these songs and other songs of the first two years check out this page
Our first time in a studio, this EP was pretty much recorded in four hours on 30th October 2004. Around 120 were sold at the shows over Xmas 04, about the same number have been sold since then, and we're still making more for people who want them. Murray appears on 'Blood Ass' clapping his hands like a pro. 'Structural Damage' and 'Susan' came back again because we hoped to get better versions, they're maybe a little better. 'Euro Court' is being hosted by Bearos at the moment so if you want to hear us without going to myspace, or just want an MP3 of that song and some artwork with a bug on follow the song name link under the cd. You can now also get electrified Blood Ass at myspace. Incidentally, at the beginning of Beers&Weirs, you can hear the metal band who were rehearsing next door while we were recording..

'Open Ure Legs, It's S.E.F!' (DVD)

i guess you file this under bootleg, but it's the best looking SEF bootleg around. if you want a copy drop us a line at the usual address. The sound is a little sketchy as it's just from the camera mic, but it's an all singing all dancing dvd with menus, chapters and interviews (w/Lloyd Bowen, David, Tom Grant, Ben Churchill) so it stands as a pretty good document of the show
