Past Gigs...
*Summer '06 - As with the previous summer we were down a band member or two at the beginning. Andrew was travelling across Canada and David was on a language farm in Germany teaching the kids there Prince songs. During this time Bryn and myself played a couple of acoustic shows. The first was at the Spotted Dog Digbeth, supporting Caravan Kids. In fact Bryn was accompanied for most of the set by Jan on guitar (his live debut!) i just joined in at the end.
[SEF trainspotter note: this show saw Bryn closing with 'Forgotten Round the Table' a song which dates back to before SEF, take into consideration Bryn was 13 when SEF started, it's old.]
Our second show was at The Sunflower Lounge supporting Sunset Cinema Club. It was a short set. 'Susan' was going to make a comeback for a nite but we were a little rusty on the chords, it was replaced by 'Weirs' (the second half of 'Beers&Weirs'). Playing the Sunflower Lounge was new anyways and a ear shattering SCC set made for a good rest of the nite. Also for the second time that summer Bryn joined SCC onstage to sing in the last song. Our set was caught on video, it makes for ok viewing...

...It seemed that our summer might end there, however David and Andrew returned a little earlier than we thought they might so we got to rehearsing. Not having any shows to worry about turned out to be a bit of a blessing. We managed to catch up much of the writing we'd got behind with last summer. 'Wet Ender' was finally completed and we got started on a new song 'a Week of Greek'. Thanks to the Churchills we also made a start recording for the next record 'B.V Lice'. Songs recorded so far include 'Pasta Dude', 'Wet Ender' (instruments), 'B.V Lice' and 'Sturt and I Say Hi!' (full band)....
Bryn was leaving for Norway for 9 months so the summer ended with a farewell party where we had to play whole albums at a time (no skip button ysee) and Bryn was crowdsurfed up and down staircases. A celebrated summer. PARTY! Pics
