A Word from the Front
Desk…
Hello,
friends! This page will alert you to
what I mean by “updates” and other website-related items. Also, I’ll address potential issues with
some items on the various Web pages under my domicile. For the brave among you, read on!
Updates
– Normally, when I use the word “update” and there isn’t a new link on the home
page (usually denoted with the highly original descriptor “NEW!” and
larger-than-normal formatting), I’m referring to a new journal entry that has
been made. Potentially, I may update an
existing Web page to reflect new information.
In those instances, I will try to include an “updated xx/xx/xxxx” tag on
the link to that particular page. (This
probably won’t apply to the Dartnel, as it is assumed that I will have a new
entry posted there before/on every Saturday.)
The Word of the Week Dictionary is updated at the beginning of every
month, usually at the same time as the first Dartnel entry for that particular
month (occasionally earlier).
Windows XP Problems? – I am not certain of this yet, but I believe that my Web
forms do not work with Windows XP. They
may not work at all, as I haven’t tested my Web page with anything other than
Windows XP yet. If you want to e-mail
me, it may be better to type my e-mail address, showsinc@hotmail.com, into your e-mail
program and send me the message that way.
Printing Issues – Always use the Print Preview function to see what the
page will look like printed before you print out anything from the
Internet. If you want to print off
anything from this website (maybe you’re interested in expanding your
vocabulary and want to print off the Word of the Week Dictionary), it’s
probably best to highlight the text you want to print off, select Print from
the File submenu (NOT the printer icon), and choose to print off the Selected
Text Only. I probably didn’t explain it
well, but you can find information on how to print the selected text only
through your Web browser’s Help section (press the F1 key).
E-Mail Links – The various e-mail links scattered throughout the
website will not work if you do not have a stand-alone e-mail program like
Microsoft Outlook Express. If your
e-mail address is accessed on-line (i.e., Yahoo! or Hotmail), it is best to
send me an e-mail from your account.
Once again, my e-mail is showsinc@hotmail.com. Just type it into the “To” field in your
e-mail program… but then, you already knew that, didn’t you? J
