Links to the Outside…

Here, you will find links to Web pages that are maintained by friends of mine.  You may also find Web pages that I like to visit.  Let’s face it; I don’t know what’s going to be here, just that I’m going to have a links page.  You may suggest a Web site to me through e-mail; see the form below.  (To be safe, you may want to send your Web site suggestion through my e-mail: showsinc@hotmail.com.  I’m not sure the form is in working order.)

Friendly Links:

A & C's JpBlog – My good friend Ashley and her husband Chris have finally succumbed to the temptation to post their experiences in Japan online, in the form of a blog.  An added bonus:  Unlike my Web site, theirs has pictures!  Another bonus:  No annoying Word of the Week!

My Favorites:

www.dictionary.com – This is the main source for the Word of the Week.  Go here if you need to find the definition to a word.  There’s also a Thesaurus feature, if you want a word that means approximately the same thing as, say, “pari passu.”

www.historychannel.com/tdih  – This is the site for those of you who wish to know the historical happenings that may have taken place on your birthday, my birthday, your anniversary, the Fourth of July, Washington’s birthday, Christmas, Easter, February 29th, June 31st, … wait, there’s no such thing as June 31st!

www.statlerbrothers.com – The official Web site for what I consider to be the best male quartet ever.  There’s information and trivia on the country/gospel group from Staunton, Virginia.

www.jimmyfortune.com – The tenor singer from the Statler Brothers, Jimmy Fortune, has embarked on a solo career.  The main feature of this Web site is a message board that covers Jimmy, the Statlers, current events, etc.  Jimmy’s tour schedule can also be found here.

www.marklowry.com – I hate to admit this, but he’s my example of how to do a blog.  He’s been doing it for years, since before it was cool.  The former baritone for the Gaither Vocal Band, Mark Lowry now tours on his own.  This man will make you say about him, “What a nut!”  There are various sections on this Web site besides his ramblings (blog), including a joke section.

www.startrek.com – The official Web site for Star Trek.  Go here to find information on your favorite Trek episodes, see news relating to Star Trek, or find information on the various technologies used in Star Trek.

news.yahoo.com – This is my preferred site for news on the Internet.  There are several subdivisions of news items, arranged in reverse chronological order (most recent first).
