---ah, yes - Romero's classic zombie fest, all packaged in beautiful black and white, ready for my video consumption (i had to avoid the DVD to watch this with the original soundtrack - at least, the DVD versions i can get ahold of). man, i've seen this movie a million times but everytime i watch it i get excited like it's my first! yeah - the movie that started it all, the glorious zombie trilogy of "Night of..", "Dawn of the Dead" and "Day of the Dead" - one of my favorite trilogies of all time! (right up there with the star wars and godfather trilogies).....this film is wonderful, a real treat! really classy and creepy, using gore only when needed (even though the famous "eating of the flesh" scene makes no sense as the flesh they're eating should be burned to a crisp, yet it's all raw and fleshy!). great directing, all the good stuff. only bad point would be the stiff acting, but what can you expect from a low budget movie - oscar nominees? the end is just evil and classic, too!
