All about OASIS

Oasis, probably the favorite band of the British, is a legendary English rock band initially formed in 1991.
After a few changes in members, the group is now consisted of Liam Gallagher (vocals), Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher (guitar and vocals), Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell, as well as unofficial drummer Chris Sharrock.
The Gallagher brothers are the band's leading songwriters and the only continual members.
Oasis have sold over 60 million records worldwide, have had eight UK number-one singles and have collected 15 NME Awards, 5 Brit Awards, 9 Q awards and 4 mtv europe awards.
Their first two albums, "Definitely Maybe"(1994) and "(What's the story) Morning Glory"(1995) brought the band both the critical acclaim and worldwide popularity.
These two albums, which changed the trend of British rock music, are often referred as one of the most well-made album in British music history.
The Gallagher brothers were featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their sibling rivalry and wild lifestyles, and the band often suffered from the frictions between members.
Even though they did not brought the same sensations of the first two albums, Oasis's subsequent albums "Be Here Now"(1997), "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants"(2000), and "Heathen Chemistry" contributed to strengthen the Oasis's status as worldwidely popular rock band.
Ther sixth albun "Don't Belive the Truth"(2005) regained the once-lost critic acclaim, and with its worldwide popularity Oasis was able to have a world tour in 2006.
For more than a decade, Oasis remains as the most popular band in Great Britain and in the world.
Their new album "Dig Out Your Soul"(2008) is also gaining wide popularity and critical success.
"Oasis is Oasis". People often say that this explains everything of the band.
Their sixth album Don't Believe the Truth with Zak Starkey (2005), despite turbulent recording, became their best-selling and best-received album in a decade. The following year, the band released a compilation album entitled Stop the Clocks. In February 2007, Oasis received the BRIT Award for outstanding contribution to music. Dig Out Your Soul, the seventh studio album by the band, was released on 6 October 2008, with the lead single from that album, "The Shock of the Lightning", which was released on 29 September 2008. For the current tour the band have enlisted Chris Sharrock.
