Here, the world-famous Taj Mahal is located, which is deservedly counted as one of the wonders of the world, and without exception overwhelms every visitor. This building of love, a tomb wich Shah Jahan ordered to be built for his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal, is a must during every trip to India! Furthermore, in the city there is also the giant Agra Fort with its numerous palaces. Only a short jump away is the ghost town of Fathepur Sikri, which the Mogul Emperor Akbar built in the 16th century, and had to be abandoned only 14 years later due to lack of water. Ever since, the city with its palaces and mosques is deserted, but exceptionally well preserved.
