The Great Unknown
I honor those that have gone before,
Though I have yet to go.
Shangri-la for those who are good,
And Hell for those who's evil.
But though we believe all this to be true,
How do we really know?
Some say death is the final chapter of the book,
I say our greatest journey's yet to come.
We talk about it so often,
But all are afraid to go.
What cowards we are when we must face the great unknown.
Why do we fear it?
We always say it's the better place.
Oh! You don't believe me?
When a child comes to you,
An orphan we'll say,
And asks where his parents are
We say they're in a better place-
In Heaven-
Watching down from above.
If this unknown is so much better,
Then why do we fear it?
Because it's just that...
The Great Unknown.
