| 27. MATCHBOX ROMANCE |
| Can you hear my quiet voice that's pleading? Begging for reconsideration of the engagement. And do you fear your heart which has been tempted by this scrapbook of events a year ago? I never knew to make the move so many guys had failed. Instead I stood idly by, hiding from old passions. I don't care if you think you're taken, because without you my hope's wasted. It's my time to try. It's not fair to follow your head over your heart. I'm listening, whoping for so much more than a sign. I don't care if you've given yourself away without this parting. Please don't stare when I confess you had me in the past. Can you feel this grasp that's neverending, ceaasing to exist except in thoughts of going with me? Do you mean, "this love has been forsaken" by unwillingness to turn the last page of our matchbox romance? I never jumped to a conclusion that states the obvious: odds are overwhelming, but then you shouldn't have told me. It's not too late to finish what we've started, teasing beyond the reach of time. It's my time to try. |
