"Star Trek"

Cyberspace - The Final Frontier

When Sidedish and myself get to digging we just lose all track of time and become animaniacs. The other day, Sidedish was nosing around the barn and being the inquisitive pooch that I am, trotted over to see what she was up to. Sidedish had her nose buried up to her eyebrows and her front feet motion was something any self respecting JR would be proud of. Dirt was flying and for a moment I lost site of her as she dropped down another foot or so into the earth. I thought it might be a mouse, check out my mouse page, so I frantically started digging myself. We seem to bring out the best in one another. If she is doing something, I always figure I can do it better and vise versa. This includes good things and bad things as Mom says. So anyway, when I happened to come up for air, Sidedish was happily chewing up a cricket. A CRICKET I say! This youngster has no brains. Apparently Mom didn't order brains when she got her or inadvertently left that spot blank on the order form, I don't which, but this crazy pooch was deliriously happy munching away on a cricket. With this type of supplemental diet, no wonder she has bad dreams. Now trying not to look like too much of a fool for joining in, I cleaned my front feet and was about to join Shadow for a game of "Catch me if you can" when Mom walked around the corner. She for some reason has this thing about us digging. Well I knew Sidedish was in BIG TROUBLE. She had dirt all over her back, her front feet were filthy and her face looked like Mary Kay had just given her a mud facial. To add insult to injury there stuck in her whiskers was a cricket leg. All the proof Mom needed. And yet, she kept eyeballing ME!!! Like I had started this or something. I tried putting on my best "I have no idea how this happened look" but I wasn't pulling it off and she wasn't buying it. After we both got the "I work hard so that you can have a nice place to live" speech, (that's #54 on the Speech List) and we looked duly sorry as she filled it back up, things got back to normal. Or as normal as it can get for JR's. Dad says that we could probably dig to China. I have been contemplating doing this. Hummmmmm, I hear they have Chinese Pugs and I don't believe I have ever seen one of these. More later.
