FUTURE SHOCK

Welcome to my second theme month. The first was of course Sonny Chiba Month. Well, I had been toying with several ideas for the next theme month. And I do have a few more in the planning stages right now. But, that's neither here nor there. But as Criswell said in Plan 9 From Outer Space "Future events will affect us in the future." So true...So very true...

Every movie for this month is set in the future. Hence the name FUTURE SHOCK. No post-apocalyptic future movies. Large guys wearing fur and metal masks just seem to not really make an awe-inspiring future. Every movie in this month will be set in the future, hence the title of this month. I thought I should include Trancers even though it was reviewed months before this festival.

It isn't like I'm asking for much with this theme month. They just have to be set in the future. Granted I don't remember the great Nuclear War of 2000. Or, the incredible technological boom that completely revolutionized the world overnight. And led to the formation of giant mega-national conglomerates that control the planet, save for a few small bands of scattered rebels. But, I get easily distracted.
