Frequently Asked Questions |
When does the team hold meetings? |
We hold meetings every Sunday from 11a-1p usually in the library. In addition everyother Wednesday evening we will have a short meeting to develop public speaking ability. The team will also return about 4 days early from winter break to hold several meetings to prepare for the confrenece. |
How much of a time commitment is involved ? |
The time commitment to MUN may seem like alot, but it is well worth it. Returning delegates say outside of meeting times independent research takes on average 1-2 hours a week. The other commitment involved is the four day conferce at Harvard in Feb. Two school days will be missed, but most professors have no problem excusing students for the confrence. |
Will I be doing all the work my self? |
NO, each commitee will have two team members. Futhermore, every effort will be made to place new delegates with returning delegates. Plus other team members will often pass on relvant information to fellow teammates. As they say many hands make light work. |
What if I play sports or have other commitments? |
We will make every effort to accomidate applicants who have other commitments such as sports. The head delegates and faculity advisor will make the final determation if a applicants other commitments are accepticable. Futhermore, every team memember must be able to attend the Harvard National Model UN confrence in Feb. |
Who is on the team? |
The team is usially about 18-22 members large. Most commitee has two assigned team members. In addition we have 2 head delegates (who act as coaches and mentors) and a faculity advisor who attends meetings and ensures the team is living up to the high standards it sets out for its self. |
When is the Conference? |
This year the Harvard National Model UN conference will be held Feb 17-20 at the Boston Park Plaza resort and confrence center. |
Do we have to pay any fees to be apart of MUN? |
