SIGMA THETA PSI HISTORY

SQY was first recognized on November 13, 1991 at SJSU. On February 07, 1992, the eighteen Founding Mothers made an introductory presentation.

They established themselves, not on superficiality, but rather on the shared values of Respect, Honesty and Loyalty.

Our Multicultural sorority began as a well organized society of goal-oriented women and is still going strong. Today, SQY has founded six other chapters, at San Diego State University, the University of Southern California, Long Beach, Stanford University, Mt. Saint Mary's, and most recently at Monterey Bay.

SQY is an Academic and Social sorority. It is a unity of women that recognizes the trials of new and continuing students and is willing to assist other women through such educational endeavors.

Encouragement is offered in every aspect of Moral, Academic and Social support as well as developing life-long friendships.
