The folk-dance ensemble

The dance group, "Youth of Podillya," is an amateur, folk, choreographic collective. Its participants are students, postgraduates, lecturers, and collaborators from the Technological University of Podillya (Khmelnitskiy, Ukraine). The group has been dancing together since 1975.

It was very small group in the beginning. Since that time, the dance group has been grown greatly to become a dance ensemble. Now it includes a dance group (30 members), a group of soloists (6 members), and an instrumental orchestra (8members). A Children's dance school is also a part of the ensemble.

It has become famous, not only in Ukraine, but all over the world. Unfailing successes accompanied their performances in Russia, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Malta, Holland, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and in other countries around the world. The group participated in days of Ukrainian culture in Hungary (1983), Bulgaria (1987), Poland (1989). The group's concerts at the International festivals in Holland (Raalte, Enskhede, Varphum), in France (Ex la Ban, Bran-Dyunes, Dizhon) and and in Bulgaria (Varna) were performed flawlessly with expertise.

The advanced levels of expertise and professionalism allow the "Youth of Podillya" to include in its programme dances of many peoples of the world, such as Russian, Moldavian, Byelorussian, Spanish, Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian, Polish and others.

The ensemble was awarded the title of "People's" during the first All-Union Festival of folk arts in 1977 and the title of a Laureate of the International Festival in Valletts(Malta) in 1985.
