The Wessex Metal Detecting Association homepage

Formed in 1978 at the home of our President Lou Davis the WMDA soon grew from the original membership of seven people. Over the years the W.M.D.A has moved home four times. When Lou's front room became too small we moved to Headley Village Hall. At that venue we enjoyed many happy years. In 1995 a fire forced us to move again to Newbury Rugby Club but redevlopment of this site brought us to our present home, THE CONSERVATIVE CLUB at CHEAP STREET< NEWBURY. We meet at this very pleasant location on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 8.0pm. New members are always welcome both total beginners or fully experienced detectorists. Our pages are always and under construction, so come back often! We hope to include information on club activities, photos of finds, more history of the club and it's achievements and much, much more.
