Keyboard Shortcuts

As we discussed last month, setting up fast is crucial, well speed in general is crucial in the Game of Warcraft II.

There are 2 ways you can speed up your game. Nothing will let you go any faster than you can grasp the game, but at least with this in mind you can improve. It is kind of like playing tennis without using a backhand. It is a definite handicap if you don't use the functions that are enable to make play faster.

First lets talk about the keyboard. The Keyboard is you lefty! Well, that is for Right handers like myself. In War2 you can get the whole job done with the mouse but, it is just very limited speed wise. When you add in the use of the Keyboard you will be amazed at how much faster you can accomplish tasks.

Well enough chit chat, here it is, in the game you will see for every function there is one letter in yellow while the rest are white. This yellow letter is the key command for that function. For many of the commands you will have to run the mouse over them to see the description located at the base of the screen, and then you can learn it's key.

For Example say that you want a Peasant or Peon to build a farm, a menial task but an important one. Well the easiest way to do it is to select the Peasant/Peon with the mouse and type "B" (for Build) and "F" (for Farm). Instead of selecting each thing with the mouse you just used your left hand to speed it up.

There are tons of useful keyboard functions, experiment with them and you will find it speeds you up incredibly and your opponent will be standing there with there pants down when you attack with Paladins and Mages and he barely has knights.
