PROJECT OF THE MONTH

Mike G writes: ...I use my T100X vertically...I mounted it with velcro in a Mead Five-Star Orgainizer Cover ...The notebook cover worked out well... it was only $5 and I simply removed the 3 ring binder that was in it and velcroed it in(carefully applied ofcourse)! ...It's a rugged cloth with a stiff cardboard and padding cover with a velcro closure. The inside holds a 3 ring binder(which you remove) and it leaves you usable pockets. It creates a very good protecter for little $$.

t100x_mead_close1. Did you add the strap to keep the notebook closed?
No. It's part of the "planner" when you buy it. I did tape in that piece of foam that covers the glass when closed... just a little extra protection.

2. Did you just taped velcro to the back of the T100X to keep in in place?
Yes. I used those self adhesive strips you can get at most stores.

3. Did you add "Intel Inside" sticker?
NO! When I bought mine it was advertised as an Intel Chip and the sticker was on it... Made me wonder if maybe part of my "refurb" included a new chip? I've asked others the question with no response. Mine also had an Energy Star Compliand sticker on it that fell so I stuck in on the back.

Resume mode and the PCMCIA modem
When I am in resume mode and boot up, my modem doesn't work. Is there a fix? The manual mentions APM.SYS and POWER.EXE as a solution. I need to investigate this further.

New Deal/GEOS running on your machine?
Robert Housley writes: "On another note, do you know anyone who has set up either GEOS or NEW DEAL 97 to work on the T100x? I'm having some problems getting it to run. Would be willing to write up an article about it for posting to the web page."

Linux on the T100X!
It has been done. Contact byron@cc.gatech.edu. He is running a stipped down version of Linux minus X Windows. I believe he will start working on it later mid-1997. I was planning to run Linux on my machine, but Windows has more software and resources for help. Maybe, I should get another T100X.

RF Link between T100X and PC?
