Other Form: Cayl's animal form is that of a small bird of prey, a falcon; a merlin, to be exact. He's small for a falcon. He is mostly brown, with a grayish blue back and a brown-streaked white underside. His tail is banded with black and white, and he has no distinguishing markings. His eyes in merlin form are a very dark brown.
Appearance: In human form, Cayl is very tall and stocky, thickly built. He has dark, tanned skin and his hair is chestnut brown. It reaches way beyond his waist, just short of his ankles, and most of the time, it's in a thin ponytail. His eyes are dark blue.
Personality: Short and to the point, Cayl has a tendency to be blunt and completely tactless. He's also impatient and not good at dealing with other people. He prefers to be in a small, close group or, better yet, by himself. He's highstrung and panics easily, and he also tends to be overprotective of those close to him, his sister especially.
Past: Twin siblings, Cayl and Calle were born to a royal family-King and Queen, in fact. The twins, barely a year old, lost their parents in an act of treason. The archchancellor had them assassinated so he could take over the country. Though he intended to make sure that the children were killed as well, they instead ended up in an orphanage outside the capital city. They grew up there, having no idea they were the prince and princess.
The archchancellor did not realize they were still alive until they were almost ten years old. Still wary of them, he decided to let them live. However, he had a curse put on the both of them so that they would not be able to work together to overthrow him. While Calle is human during the daylight hours, she is cursed to turn into a dove every night. Cayl is human at night, but becomes a merlin during the day. They have an animal mind in cursed form and don't remember what goes on when they're not human.
They know of no cure for the curse, or even why (or who) cursed them in the first place, and still don't know that they are royalty. They live on the edge of a town and work, managing to get by. Or, at least they did. The traitorous archchancellor-now King-began to get paranoid and, despite his earlier decision, decided to have them killed. They escaped, and next, he sent a wizard after him. This worked slightly better. Though he didn't actually kill the twins, the wizard managed to send them to another world, where he figured they'd be stuck for the rest of their lives, if they managed to survive the trip there. Of course, he didn't tell the king that-as far as he was concerned, they were dead.
Cayl and Calle ended up at Star City, dazed and bewildered and the shift-oriented clock playing havoc with their curse bound abilities. Once they discovered where they were, and that there were dragons everywhere, they decided to stand for the dragon clutches.

Other Form: Calle's animal form is a white-winged dove. She is unusally pale-colored, almost completely white, except for some dark gray markings on her wings and tail. The rest of her body is snowy white. Her eyes in this form are black.
Appearance: In human form, Calle is of average height-much shorter than her brother, thin and willowy. Her pale skin tends to burn easily. Her hair is dark auburn, with just a hint of red in it, and hangs to her shoulders. It's mostly straight, but tends to curl at the ends. Her wide eyes are a pale, blue-gray color.
Personality: Very energetic and active, Calle is much more friendly and outgoing than her brother tends to be. She's gentle and caring, with a habit of looking after other people before herself. She gets lonely easy and likes being around other people.

Personality: Tyest'zjan is a lighthearted trickster. He's a good foil to Cayl, because his cheerful nature is good at smoothing down any feathers that Cayl ruffles with his impatience and rudeness. In everyday happenings, you'll be heard-pressed to find Tyest with anything other than a smile on his face, for he also believes that the way life goes is the way it's supposed to, so all you should do is sit back, smile, and enjoy the ride.
