LIVE SHOWS

This is the page on which I will be posting
results from live shows that I attend!

Spring Fever Live 1999
St. Helens, OR  April 24, 1999

Nothing too exciting, quite a few flats, but no rosettes!
My "High Point" horse at this show was
my Cappuccino, the TRU SR PAS.
He placed in all three classes--breed, color, and gender--
against some tough competition!
The gender class had 104 horses; he placed 9th.

Bob's Breyer Show
Longview, WA  May 8, 1999

That gives me three Grand ribbons total after 4 shows.
My Summer Song CM Marabella placed 1st in all of her three classes,
bringing home a Reserve Champion in breed,
Champion in gender, and Reserve Grand Custom Division.
My Huckleberry Bey "Cilano Bey" won the

The other breed Reserve Champion belonged to "Crabapple"
my JAH SR SM Mule.

Northwest Congress 1999
Renton, WA  May 22 & 23, 1999

This was a REALLY fun show, and quite large! It was my first time showing in Open OF, and I think I did reasonably well in that kind of competition... I NAN qualified two OF models (my Iron Metal Chief "North By Night" and my JAH SR SM Mule "Crabapple") and one CM ("Silver Bells" Judy Pope Cigar CM). YAY!!! These are my first ever NAN tickets.

I learned something, next Open division show I attend,
I will be MUCH pickier about models in my show string!
I wasn't expecting to be in Open, but with the performance at the May 8th Bob's show,
I had to move up to Open division since I had 3 Grands.

I also bought a new SM resin, a Leslie Kathman "Winston" painted by Gina Anderson to a sorrel Suffolk Punch. He is already NAN qualified for '99-'00.

Puyallup Breyer Roundup
Puyallup, WA  August 14, 1999

"The biggest show (really!) in the Northwest"
Nothing too exciting in the results here...
competing in Open was tough!

My little SR JAH SM Paso Fino, "Toletto", took second
out of A TON of horses in her buckskin/dun class.
I got a few other high ribbons, which I can't remember right now.
The second in the color class was probably
the biggest class I placed Top 3 in.

Mainly, this was just a fun show.
Stephanie Macejko signed my new "Zippo Pine Bar"
and "Cricket and Willow", the Tour Foals.
PLus, I got to chat with quite a few people that I rarely get to see!

End of the Century Live
Rickreall, OR  November 20, 1999

This show was a LONG 4 hour drive for me...
along with an overnight stay in Salem.
Well it seemed to be a long trip in the pouring rain and wind!
Glad to be inside on Saturday.
The show only had breed classes,
but I was quite pleased with my results!

I NAN Qualified three horses.
"A La Mode", an OF National Show Horse mare,
took second out of about 50 Part-Arabs.
"Costly Call", an OF Quarter Horse foal,
took first out of about 25 Stock foals.
"Silver Bells", my CM dapple grey Cigar,
took FIRST out of a NICE class of 20 or so resins and
simple customs combined, to become double NAN Qualified!

Spring Fever Live 2000
St. Helens, OR  April 22, 2000

Very successful, but large, show!
I think I brought home the most NAN cards yet...
I am slowly catching on to this tough Open stuff! :)
Tons of nice competition.
Silver Bells took 1st in his Simple CM breed class,
and went on to take a Reserve Champion in overall breed,
giving him a total of three NAN cards to date, in limited showing!
Phantom Rain also NANed his first time out
with a 1st in a wonderful Mustang class.
North By Night brought home his second NAN card
with a 2nd place in his MFT class.
And Gigabyte ("Up In Smoke"), in his very first show,
took 2nd in his Stone QH class and 1st in his other Color class,
along with a 6th in a HUGE stallion class,
to double-qualify for NAN!

Northwest Congress 2000
Renton, WA May 20-21, 2000

What a wonderful show!
I NAN q'ed six horses:
Silver Bells; Cilano Bey; Galen;
Chico; Cadillac; and Boston Riot.
Silver Bells (who now has 4 NAN cards)
took Top 5 in breed, too.
I got to dabble a little in performance, as Ronni Marcum
lent me a custom ISH, tack, and props and let me at it!
Didn't do so great, but I'm still learning...
And Chris Jolly asked me to judge a Simple CM color class for her,
which really had my stomach doing flips,
but I think I did alright... Nobody killed me after all!

NORTH AMERICAN NATIONALS 2000
Pomona, CA  June 22-23, 2000

My very first NAN was quite an experience!
A good one, though...
I brought along 10 horses this year,
and brought home 5 Top Tens and 1 National Champion!
See this page for more information on my NAN 2000.

I bought a lot... an Artist's Proof pinto Top Hat 'n Tails resin
from Chris Jolly, an unpainted Chaney mini Arab foal,
and an adorable D'arry Jone Frank pony resin, "Espresso",
whom she is painting a minimal white dapple bay tobiano!
Can't wait to get back to "Ponoma" (as the Top Ten ribbons say!) in 2002!

Puyallup Breyer Roundup 2000
Puyallup, WA  August 12, 2000?

I had a nice day at thsi show, mostly catching up with friends.
The show itself wasn't too exciting. It isn't NAMHSA-recognized this year,
so no NAN cards... but WBP Two Thumbs Up made his debut in the showring,
bringing home a Champion in breed!
My TRU SR PAS, Cappuccino ("Red October"),
also took Reserve Champion Open OF Color.
Very fun day!

PNW 2000
Woodinville, WA  September 21st, 2000?

Once again, it was awesome to see all my friends!
This WAS a NAN show and I had a very successful day!
All in all, I racked up 12 NAN cards... that is my most ever.
Highlights were Party Favor making her debut and NAN qualifying in both her two classes; "Summer Song" finally earning not one but TWO NAN cards; "PF Inspiration" debuting with a win in the buckskin class; and "Rhyme" 'n "Reason" both making smashing debuts by NANing in breed. Also brought home NAN cards for "WBP Mach-A-Reina", "Just About Magic", "Cadillac" (that makes two!), "Zinfandel" (also second card), and "Early Frost".

Spring Fever Live 2001
St. Helen's, OR  April 21st?, 2001

I had a great time at SFL this year.
I debuted several new horses, including Seven Stars (the Covenant Kept resin)
and Valeroso (the Tocar painted by Ed Gonzales). Seven Stars did fantastic, placing no lower then 3rd and ending up with two NAN cards, a breed rosette, and an Over-All Top 5.
Unfortunately, the judge didn't like Valeroso as well and he failed to NAN this time out.
All of my mini resins were in the incredibly large SM CM division-
maybe they would have been better off against the big guys!
The averge number of minis in each class was around 40. Insane!
Still, PF Thimble (the D'Arry "Espresso"), WBP Mach-A-Reina (Chris Jolly's "WBP La Reina B"), and Azale (AA mini Arab foal) managed to NAN qualify, all in the large gender classes! In the OF division, I had a disappointing day.
Just one NAN card went to my Cigar, "Boston Riot",
which gives him a total of two cards in halter.

Northwest Congress 2001
Renton, WA  May 19-20, 2001

NWC was run under new management this year. I have to say,
they all did an impressive job of putting together this huge show,
all in a very short period of time! Thanks to everyone involved to keeping NWC alive.
I had a nice show in the CM and Performance divisions
(yes, this was my debut show in performance!), but a lackluster showing
in the Open OF ring (no NAN cards at all this time!).
Customs that NANed in halter at this show were Seven Stars (2x), Spellbound,
PF Inspiration, and PF Thimble. I debuted WBP Two Thumbs Up
in performance, wearing his dressage set from Stablemate Lover's Only/Becky Yeager.
I didn't spend as much time as I needed to getting him properly tacked up,
since I really entered him on a whim... but he surprised me by taking 2nd (and a pink NAN card!) in a large and competitive Other English CM Performance class!
The judge said that she had a very hard time choosing between him and the horse that won, a Karen Gerhardt Vigil resin in a cross country set-up.
She said she wished she "had two first place ribbons!"
Next time, we'll have our set-up really ready to go,
so everyone had just better watch out! =)

Puyallup Breyer Roundup 2001
Puyallup, WA  August 11, 2001

What a super day! Historically this hasn't been one of my best shows,
but it went *great* today. In the Open Custom division, at least.
Original Finish wasn't very impressive...no ribbons higher then 3rd.
This show is open only to Breyer models (resins must have started life as a Breyer,
so I was able to show all of my Chris Jolly resins).
2001 is the first year that PBR has been NAMHSA-Approved.

Okay, so on to the results. I brought home 9 NAN cards total-
8 in halter and 1 in performance.
The one card in performance was earned by little WBP Two Thumbs Up
in his second appearance as a dressage horse. This time, his tack was properly fitted,
and he had a little arena setup to show with.
He took 2nd to the same Vigil resin that beat him at NWC.
His barnmate Spellbound had to show against him in Other English, and she took 3rd!
Not bad at all for two teeny horses!

In Open Custom halter, I had one of my best show days to date.
Seven Stars took 2nd in Morgans, Reserve Champion Light Breed, 1st in Gray color,
Champion Color, 1st in stallions, Champion Gender, and Overall Grand Champion.
This gives him 7 NAN cards in 9 classes total, never placing lower then 3rd!
WBP Two Thumbs Up was just "on" today,
winning his breed and color classes and taking Champion Other Breed.
Several other customs had a good day in the breed classes:
Silver Bells earned his 5th NAN halter card, WBP Storm Warning his first NAN card,
and Rhyme her second NAN card.

**Note: Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to keep up this page as I'd like, so I will no longer be putting up full live show reports or photos.**
