manic carnival
lyrics: GARA music: kenichi
My body is splitting deeply into feathery leaves(1), the earth that I look down on from a height of about 1 meter my entertainment.
The ants gathering in the butter that spilled from my stem have legs made of wood;
Everyone aims for the center just by themselves and runs in.
Hesitating nervous trembling clattering(2) A sound rings out,
and I'm hit and rolled around by the mocking gates; soon I'll be at death's door.
The sky looks as though it's about to fall in Chaotic In this distorting and warping world, the cosmos' flowers bloom abundantly.
If the sky crashes down Carnival In this world that hid all its happiness and sorrows, even though I wither and die, I am alone.
I'll just shout by myself... Open my eyes wide and continue shouting...
That's the signal to start...
The sky looks as though it's about to fall in Chaotic In this distorting and warping world, the cosmos' flowers bloom profusely.
If the sky crashes down Carnival In this world that closed everything off darkly is a carpet of manic people.
In this distorting and warping world, the cosmos that begins to bloom from the pores of my skin...
My leaves are splitting finely into feathery leaves... My numerous flowers are spreading out all the way over there...
The ants gathering in the butter that spilled from my stem have legs made of wood; in the yellow, they gather and suck up the honey.
The inside of my head is already a hurricane.
(1) Literally says "ujou," which I found out is a type of feathery leaf. Okay.
(2) The Japanese sounds just like nonsense, given the way that Gara sings it, but they're actual words. I just thought that was cool. Never mind, moving on.
Notes: I like the plant metaphors. And I love Gara's lyrics, even though Merry prints them in this tiny, blurry, near-unreadable font in the lyrics booklets. Seriously, part of the lyrics for this song are obscured by a picture of Nero's hand. Anyway, the lyrics for this song seem to fit in with the title of the album-- PEEP SHOW. The singer in this song feels as though he's splitting apart, like everyone is invading him ("Everyone aims for the center just by themselves and runs in," and that whole bit with the ants sucking up what's spilled from the singer). In other words, he's the show.
