The Delta Gamma Foundation provides programming that enables its members to contribute on the local, national and international levels through its philanthropies of Service for Sight; Scholarships, Fellowships, and Loans; and Educational Programming.
Although Delta Gamma's good work actually began in 1873 when the Founders adopted the motto "Do Good," the Foundation was not incorporated until 1951. A giant step toward that incorporation was made in 1936 when alumnae delegates at the Convention expressed their desire for a united "altruistic project." Ruth Billow, Eta-Akron, a Delta Gamma who was blind, read from the braille text an impassioned plea that Delta Gamma adopt Aid to the Blind and Sight Conservation as a philanthropic project.
By 1951, services and projects as well as scholarships, fellowships, and loans programming had grown so much that the Delta Gamma Foundation was officially incorporated to handle tax deductible (charitable and educational) donations
Anchor Splash™ ( when fraternities, sororities and non-Greek organizations compete in swimming events) is a major fundraiser of the Delta Gamma collegians! It is one of the most well recognized philanthropic fundraisers in the Greek world today. Funds from this event support Delta Gamma's Philanthropies: Service for Sight, Scholarships, Fellowships and Loans, Values and Ethics Lectureships, as well as a number of educational programs for our members
