OVERALL OPINION Some really amusing scenes here. A bit of conflict, a few compliments, a bit of touching, Sam staring at Jack's bare chest, an interesting look at their working relationship, and the short, sweet approval scene at the end.

NOTABLE SCENES

1) Mental Illness: General Hammond and SG1 are discussing Hathor, and what to do about her. Jack makes a joke about a crazy woman on 73rd street, who claims the devil people live in her hair, no one believes her of course, though she could use a little conditioner, he quips. Sam, of course is the only one to laugh. She always laughs at his jokes. Later during the same scene, Sam begins to understand that the men are falling under Hathor's spell. She questions Hammond's orders, and looks to Jack to back her up. Jack agrees, and for an instant we see her visibly relax. He then continues with "if I see that there is a problem" and her worry instantly returns. Not truly shippy, but we can see the faith she places in him, and how worried she is when she knows even he has seemingly been corrupted.

2) The Brush Off: Sam later confronts Jack with her suspicions about Hathor's ability to control the men. She is frustrated when he brushes her off, and at the end of the conversation, he puts his hand on her shoulder in a derogatory manner. She looks quite disgusted with him when he leaves, she is not pleased with what he's said or his gesture.

3) Women Behind Bars: When Sam and the women of the base have been captured and are in a holding cell, Sam comments that Hathor must be using a pretty powerful drug, since O'Neill is special forces trained to prevent mind control techniques. She seems to know quite a bit about him, and says this as if she's proud of him. During the same scene, Sam tells Dr. Fraiser that she can't figure out how to feel like one of the guys, with these guys. She always feels like "the girl". This is quite telling. She still feels like an outsider with her team. I wonder if after this mission she felt the same?

4) The First Jaffa: In the locker room, Sam, Fraiser and Teal'c go to find Hathor and find Jack unconsious on the floor. Though the Doctor is with them, its Sam who first goes to check on Jack. Hathor comes back and they hide. Sam is visibly worried when she overhears Hathor talking to Jack about turning him into a Jaffa. After Hathor leaves, Teal'c and Sam rescue Jack from the Goa'uld larva in the bathtub. Sam says a few comforting words to Jack, and the concern on her face is very apparent.

5) Whole Again: After Jack emerges from the sarcophagus, they work so efficiently together. He instantly takes charge, and she immediately obeys. Such great teamwork! He's the last one through the door before the explosion. And she is the first person he checks on. And due to the camera angle, it is hard to tell, but it looks like he touches her back briefly as she's getting up. One bit of interesting dialogue:

Sam: Its good to have you back, Colonel.
Jack: What, I left?

Sam's reaction to this is amusing, kind of 'he really doesn't know' does he?

6) Just A Peek: Back in the gateroom, they go to check out what remains of the sarcophagus. Now that they have a minute Sam walks up to him:

Sam: Colonel.
Jack: Yeah?
Sam: Do you mind if I take a look?
Jack: At what?
Sam: You were... ah, let's just say, you were wounded. (They both stare at his chest.) Wow. It's a miracle.
Jack: Crunches. (He is confused and slightly embarrased.)

This scene is very amusing, touching, and awkward for both of them.

7) The Attack: After Sam and Jack tranquilize the guards, Hathor zaps Sam with her ribbon device. Jack doesn't react much as he looks into Hathor's eyes, he seems powerless to do anything. As she is about to zap him, Sam recovers and takes multiple shots at Hathor.

8) Commendation: In this episode's last scene, General Hammond explains to Sam and Dr. Fraiser that he is putting them up for a commendation medal. After the general leaves, Sam is all smiles and gazes over to Jack almost for approval, which with a smile he gives, "Nice job". This is a wonderful moment between the two.
