OVERALL OPINION
This isn't an SJ Shippy episode but a couple of brief moments do inspire projecting. Notably, when Jack proudly announces that Sam "figured it out" and their teamwork in talking to Linea. On a whole, an SG1 episode with little to do with S&J.
NOTABLE SCENES
1) Protection: Upon arriving in prison Jack immediately declares that Hadante "sucks". In a manner of seconds, Sam has tried to make 'friends' with one of the inmates, resulting in her being surrounded and caught by an inmate called Vishnoor. Linea appears, halting the attack and announcing that Sam is under her protection. After Linea has 'welcomed' them, she departs, and Jack promptly asks Sam if she's ok. Nodding, she responds with a standard "yes Sir".
2) Splitting Up: Sending Daniel and Teal'c off to find a power source, Jack decides that he and Sam will search out Linea since she seems to be in charge. Keeping her close because of the previous episode (In The Line Of Duty) with Sam being possessed by Jolinar? Shipper projecting states 'yes'. :)
3) Power: Sam and Jack in their scenes with Linea, show great teamwork, both of them following the same line of questioning and answering. When Linea starts to explain her power source, Jack comments: "basic... meaning?". Linea responds with "that which we can not see but of which all is made". Turning to Sam, Jack simply looks at her as she smiles and promptly explains in one word for him: "sub-atomic". Realising that Linea's activators and such are a form of cold fusion, Sam and Linea converse, discovering the common science. Sam's enthusiasm is visible as she turns to the Colonel, remarking that this will definitely be an advantage to Earth. Kindly, Jack reminds her "back to basic's", asking if it'll power the Stargate. Sam states that yes, it should. When Linea says that it's incalculable (obviously referring to Stargate addresses), Jack responds with a thumb jerk to Sam and almost proudly announces: "well, actually, she figured it out". Linea is amazed and asks Sam how, as Sam modestly admits it was a team effort really. Butting in, Jack states there'll be no more information exchanging until they get home... if Linea will power the Stargate, SG1 will take her with them.
4) Group Meeting: SG1, together again. As Daniel and Teal'c comment that they've found nothing, Sam and Jack announce that Linea has a power source. Speaking in turn, they state that Linea will give them power providing that they take her with them. Daniel comments on this, asking if that's wise--they don't even know what she's in here for. This prompts Sam to remark well "what are *we* in here for?", Jack's response: "jaywalking, I think". The conversation ensues, Jack and Daniel discussing fear and respect in prison's and we learn that Jack has been in a prison society before. As they talk, Sam's looking around, causing Jack to eventually turn to her, stare at her curiously for a moment and then hit her (lightly) on the arm to gain her attention again.
5) Dinner 101: As Vishnoor tells Jack that they'll eat last, both Sam and Jack wrinkle their faces at his apparent BO, the combined expressions amusing. Later, as they approach the feeding trough, Jack cautiously samples the 'food' before passing the bowl to Sam, again, their expressions mutually disgusted. :)
6) Consciousness: As Daniel recovers, Jack adopts a brogue to tell him that he's won his fight, causing Sam to look at him. A moment later, Daniel announces a destination for them to go to, causing Sam and Jack to exchange a lengthy look before commenting "a little brain damage along the way?".
7) Dinner 201: Not much SJ but cute. Daniel has just announced that SG1 is first for food, causing Jack to wave his arm to Sam, gesturing that she proceed them. Once up there, Sam takes her food, Teal'c staring at the slop before impassively turning away, ignoring it. As Jack moves up, he looks briefly at Daniel muttering a "thank you" to which Daniel grins broadly.
