OVERALL OPINION
There's not much really, this was not a shippy episode, but it is my all time favourite. There is a classic line from Jack in it, where he is talking to Apophis in the infirmiry. Apophis says to him "I want to live." Jack replies, "Can't help you there, that's between you and your God... Oh... wait a minute, you are your God, that's a problem!" Still, a couple of nice SJ scenes.
NOTABLE SCENES
1) Jolinar: When they find out that Apophis had been tortured, Sam has a flashback of Jolinar being tortured with a device to cause pain when she was being killed by the Ashrack. Jack looks at her and with a very concerned look on his face and says "Sam?" She explains the flashback she just had, and the two of them look at each other for a while before going on. The shipiness was very noticable here, Jack was really concerned about *her* and she recognised that concern. If they'd been alone together in a situation that wasn't as tense, I think Jack would have actually hugged her.
2) Apophis: At the briefing it is decided that Apophis be kept for questioning, Jack is not at all happy about this. After de-briefing everyone else leaves the room, except Jack, who is still clearly not happy. He gathers up his things and a figure appears at the doorway, it is Sam, she says "Sir?" but all he does is push past her and says "I should have shot him." This is a shame, because here she was, ready for him to open up to her, but he was too p****d to realize.
3) Talking Shop: Nothing too shippy here, except Daniel, Teal'c and Jack are talking, Sam walks in and sits right next to Jack. She could have chosen a position next to the other two, but she chose Jack. And no, this had nothing to do with camera angles [g].
4) Jealousy: You don't actually see Jack's face, but when Martouf arrives he sees Sam and smiles this wonderful smile at her, and she flashes him one of her lovliest smiles right back. I just wonder how Jack felt at this.
