OVERALL OPINION
This episode had some pretty good shippy moments, especially showing that Jack and Jacob get along *really* well, which would bode well for a relationship happening between Sam and Jack. All that said, it's still not one of *the* shippier eps I've seen.
NOTABLE SCENES
1) Hologram: When Jacob first shows them all the hologram of the hierarchy of the Goa'uld system lords, Sam is the first to state her fascination at the manner the hologram is projected. Not long after we see Jack checking it out himself, like he's quite interested in it in a similar way.
2) Insubordinate: Jack seems to have an 'in' with Jacob. When they are first talking with the lead ATF agent back at the ATF camp, this is the conversation:
ATF Agent: You have a rather insubordinate subordinate, General.
Jacob: He's not insubordinate to me, only to people such as yourself. Saves me the trouble.
Just goes to show that Jacob likes the way Jack works.
3) Talk, Talk, Talk: A little while later, we see Daniel approaching Jack and Jacob who are deep in conversation alone. Makes you wonder what, or who, they were talking about. Not long after that when they are all together discussing plans, Jack calls Sam's dad 'Jacob'. He doesn't even bat an eyelash at Jack's relaxed manner with him. As they are discussing possible plans, every time Sam either agrees with Daniel's arguments or supports his ideas, Jack seems to more readily consider or agree to them as well.
4) Shocked: Sam has come up with a way to make sure that when she, Daniel, and Jack go in to Seth's compound that they'll be able to break out of their drug-induced haze by using little ear pieces fitted with shock devices. Jack asks if it'll work. The rest of the conversation goes like this:
Sam: It'll work, sir, assuming Dad's right.
Jack: (Looking at Jacob.) Dad?
Jacob then responds, and again doesn't seem in the least bit bothered at Jack's familiarty with him.
5) Eunuched: When Daniel, Jack, and Sam are in the underground tunnel leading to Seth's compound, Daniel is explaining what Seth historically has done with his 'followers'. When Daniel says that Seth turned the men who stayed within the compound in to eunuchs, Sam and Jack look at him in surprise/disgust at the same time.
6) Wavelengths: Once they get inside the 'transport' room, an interesting thing happens. Here's how the conversation goes.
Jack: Daniel.
Daniel: What?
Jack: Now what?
Daniel: Why are you asking me?
Sam: Well, you knew there'd be tunnels.
Jack has not had to say anything more. Sam automatically knows what Jack is trying to get at. It shows how much they think alike/are on the same wavelength.
7) The Escape: The trio have been found out by Seth and are no longer drugged. As they are being led away by one of his 'disciples', Jack stops the kid and without a word to Sam as to what he's going to do, they disarm him and zat him. Good silent communication again.
8) You Killed Him: Seth is trying to escape in the tunnel, and Sam has to go after him with the ribbon device. Jack sees this and looks quite concerned. Once he and Daniel catch up with Sam and see what she's done, he comments "Hail Dorothy". Sam is not too happy with this and she makes that clear to Jack, who immediately looks like he regrets saying it.
