Ray's Packard Bell Computer

Many of you may be wondering what my computer is.  I bought a Packard Bell Platinum I (with the PB 640 motherboard) back in May 1996.

My original system configuration -
Ray's Packard Bell Platinum I

As you can see I have the Pizza Tower case, I find this case to be the simplest Packard Bell case to work in.  The top just slides off and you can run the computer with the case off.  It is also nice because the computer sits upright at all times while performing upgrades.

Any computer eventually gets outdated and upgrades are necessary to avoid buying a new computer.  Even though I was told by many that Packard Bells were not upgradable, I set out to prove them wrong and my web site is a catalog of my achievements.

Upgrades to my system - (in the order the upgrades were performed)

If you want to know more about the PB 640 motherboard, visit my PB 640 motherboard page.  It has detailed info on some of the upgrades I have performed.  My Upgrade Section also has lots of valuable information for those of you who want information about upgrading.

Who knows what I will be upgrading next.  You will just have to come back to my site and visit every few months to see.  You can also sign up for my newsletter that way you will be notified of important changes to my web site.  I will be sure to write reviews or articles on my upgrade experiences as time permits.

Remember I am just one of many who have upgraded their Packard Bell computer, I have a whole section devoted to Upgrade Stories.  You can read about what others have done to their systems or you can add your own story to my web site for all to read.
