Update 3/7/05: The Battary has been fitted. Carb has ben cleand. The Engine has been running after a few cooling issues (The water pump was clogged up with lime scale).
Update 10/7/05: The gear stick has been repaired after the pivot ball at the bottom of the linkage turned to powder and the gear stick came out in my hand.
Update 18/7/05: Flaring tool has arrived so I can get on with making the brake pipes (probably next week end). Clutch has been un-seazed by using a couple of axle stands and liberal use of the hand brake while runing in gear with the clutch depressed.
Update 14/08/05 Re-fitted the petrol tank and added new fuel.
Update 22/08/05 Stripped and cleaned both brake drum assemblies, shoes looked like new. Cleaned the handbrake connectors and self adjusters and fiited new brake pipes and bleed nipples.
05/04/06 After a winter of not very much progress I know have the whole front suspention and steering removed and have ordered a new pair of Track control arms and bushes. The struts have been stripped of their Calipers and these will either be refurbished or replaced after closer inspection. The steering rack will get the once over and have new gaitors and track rod ends fitted.
Update 07/07/06 Replacement Radiator (From a Mk3 1600cc) fitted with minimum hassel only had to elongate the mounting holes slightly. Noew water hoses fitted.after inspecting thespriped out components from the front end i decided to get a new steering rack (Thanks to Ebay) and a pair of re-manufactured Callipers. I also got new pads and a new fitting kit (Pins clips and springs).
Now all the new bits have been fitted and the front end has been rebuilt
All the shiny new bits in place.
Next I'll still need to bleed the brakes, after that it will be time to start the pre-MOT checks.
