SAFFC captain & defender Nenad Bacina is keen to make amends for the costly own goal that saw the Young Lions left Choa Chu Kang Stadium with a point.

The goal came deep into injury time as it helped the Young Lions complete their fairy-tale comeback, from a three-goal deficit, during the last three minutes of the game. That S-League match last week ended 6-6.

It was the first own goal Nenad Bacina had conceded in his entire career & the timing could not have been more dramatic. He has been encountering sleepless nights since as he kept asking himself what has happened.

The 32-year-old Croatian hoped that his first own goal is also his last as well. The closest before that own goal were the ones that he deflected in, but definitely not in the way the goal he scored for the Yong Lions

He had wanted to head the ball to the side instead of forward but he could not head the ball & instead it hit him to bounce into the net.

At least he knows that his team are standing by him & he appreciated it because he realised his negative contribution had shattered the team morale. The other players instead of blaming him blamed themselves for not having killed off the Young Lions.

He was glad the team managed to recover from that setback quickly to register a 4-0 away victory over Tanjong Pagar in the Singapore Cup.

And he will like to get over it as soon as possible.
