S-league Player of the Year 2002 Therdsak Chaiman is eyeing a return to Singapore as early as next month when the S-league mid season transfer window open on June 14. The 25-year-old Thai midfielder, who was a formidable force 2 years ago with his 27 goals, is said to have had talks with 2 clubs – Home United & former employers SAFFC.

Therdsak now plays for Vietnam’s East Asia Bank, who are languishing in 10th spot in the 12-team V-League.

He claimed he had talks with some clubs in Singapore but have yet to decide who to sign for especially if East Asia Bank go down to Division One in Vietnam as they will not have the financial strength to pay him.

Certainly the fact news out of Vietnam that the club is unhappy with his performances & had been blaming Therdsak for their decline is appearing to be another factor pushing him back to the S-league.

Already former Sembawang Rangers striker Pitipong Kuldilog was sacked by the club already for his poor strike rate leaving Therdsak with midfielder Sakda Jemli & defender Niweat Siriwong as the other Thais still employed by the Vietnamese club.

The only possible stumbling block for Therdsak to move could be his 3 year contract, which ends in 2006.

When contacted, SAFFC general manager Kok Wai Leong admitted that the Warriors are keen on their former star but wished the fans understand that Vietnam East Asia Bank have never announce they wanted to release Therdsak. Also paying a transfer fee is out of the question but a loan deal can be arranged.

As for Home United side, coach Steve Darby said he is always interested in a player of Therdsak’s calibre but nothing is confirmed as he has not spoken to the player yet while he is not sure if the club have ever contacted him.

Therdsak could replace compatriot Sutee Suksomkit who is leaving Home United to join K-League side Busan Icons.

Certainly the story on Thai Therdsak Chaiman look far from over with the transfer window looming
