Milan Blagojevic's injury-hit stint at Geylang United has come to an end after the Eagles decided to release the Australian midfielder.

Blagojevic played just 2 games for Scott O'Donell's side before sustaining a medial cruciate ligament injury during the league-mandatory 'Beep' fitness tests in March.

Geylang United coach O'Donell said they had an agreement with regards to termination of contracts before the season & the club has made a decision to release Milan

The Eagles coach rued the loss of former Australian international Blagojevic's as he felt Milan is a quality player whom was what the Eagles needed at the start of the season.

At first it was thought Blagojevic could be back before mid-June but after his medial ligament injury, he got a subsequent infection which set him back further.

Blagojevic had turned out 19 times for Australia, the last appearance of which was in an Oceania Nations Cup semi-final against Tahiti in 2002. The 34-year-old has also played for Beveren and Heerenveen in Europe, Parramatta Power, Newcastle United and Marconi in Australia and Johor in the Malaysian League.
