Seak Poh Leng has decided to set down as Geylang United director of football due to work commitment.

Mr Seak had stated he was leaving the Eagles in a happy piece of mind as the club had both the management personality & system to ensure it continued be at the forefront of Singapore football.

He felt Scoot O'Donell was doing well in the dual role of manager & coach while Lim Tong Hai was appointed Head of Youth Development assisted by Steven Chia, a member of Geylang management.

Mr Seak was a key member of Geylang International (Geylang United previous name) which dominated the old semi-pro Singapore Perimer league in winning all the 7 championship titles on offer from 1988 when it was formed.

He had only intended to stay with Geylang United for 3 years when he returned to the club management in 1997 but the lack of a person able to step up & replace him forced the club to ask him to continue.

In 2002, he became Geylang United director of football after the disastrous 2001 Singapore Cup final when Geylang United was thrashed 0-8 by Home United. In the post, he also took over the duty of manager & coach Jang Jung had to report to him. There was a spilt between both of them & Jang Jung left the club.

There will be no person taking over his post of director of football & coach Scoot O'Donell will report to General manager Ong Yeok Phee.
