Just days after achieving a historic League & Cup Double, Tampines Rovers championship squad is torn apart as Thai defender Choketawee quits to join Vietnamese champion Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

The Thai national defender along with Yugoslav Sead Muratovic played a big role in the heart of Tampines Rovers defence & it was 1 of the success stories for the Eastern club S-League & Singapore Cup double triumph this year.

But Thai national defender Choketawee Promrut will play no part in their title defence next season as the 29-year-old has decided to join fellow Thais Kiatisuk Senamuang, Tawan Sripan & Dusit Chalermsan at Vietnamese club Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

The departure of Choketawee will be a big loss for the Stags & already their coach Vorawan Chitavanich is feeling it

Tampines Rovers Thai coach Vorawan Chitavanich said he was disappointed that Choketawee is leaving after a brilliant season as they had offered him a new contract, but the player expressed his desire to play in Vietnam & there is nothing that can be done.
