Tercan Tarot | ||||||||||||||||||
I've always been interested in the tarot... I have had a deck of the cat tarot for years, and have admired the artwork and the realms therin. Finally, in the process of writing an email story I began to build my own tarot-world. It is based on the Rider-Waite deck, but the meaning may vary a bit. At some point I hope to have these cards in a 3-D version, but they also will appear as characters in a few writing projects that I'm working on. Below is a sampling of the cards (extracted from the aforementioned email story). This page is in progress so look for new cards as I have time to type them in (create them). These ideas and images are protected so please don't use them without permission. However, if my interest is peaked (I'm very fond of creative, long story-like email) I might give you a reading (just for entertainment of course... the future has to be your own doing). |

A woman stands in a room of mirrors. She is wearing a hooded cloak that reveals ony a fine-boned face painted with symbols that contract and expand as you watch. They eyes are black with pupils of white light. The cloask is composed of the faces of creatures: leapords, bears, bats, dragons, hummingbirds, frogs... more than you can identify before your attention is drawn to the long, graceful finger slipped from the darkness of the folds and pointing to four floating symbols: a wand that is a firefly, about to ligh on an obsidian sword, hilt made up of blue-green scarabs, a hand-made ceramic cup hovers above a pentacle made up of caterpillars on a leaf. Divinitory meaning: Orginality, creativity. Ingenuity. Self-control. Ability to use one's skill to accomplish tasks. Deception. Reversed Meaning: Weakness. Lack of will. Insecurity. One who is destructive. Ineptitude. |

A figure not distinguishable as either man or woman stands on a clif, next to a tortuous tree. A storm is hanging over the ocean behind -- it is impossible to tell if it is moving nearer or departing. Upon closer inspection bark-like skin is stretched tautly over a skeleton face with eyes that burn a deep swirling grey. It is wearing a tattered cloak, but a hint of movement reveals that it is not clothing, but a layer of bats. Divinitory Meaning: Transformation. Unexpected change. Abrupt change of the 'old' self. Ending of the familiar. Loss. Failure. Illness. Accident or death. Reversed Meaning: Stagnation. Inertion. Slow change. Near miss (accident or death). |
