Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (n. Abbr. CFS) - A syndrome characterized by debilitating fatigue and a combination of flu like symptoms such as sore throat, swollen lymph glands, low-grade fever, headaches, and muscle pain or weakness. |
In addition to the dictionary meaning, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is an illness that is often not taken seriously enough and is also confused with normal everyday tiredness or laziness, but in reality it is a very debilitating illness that effects people of all ages, all over the world. |
The most common symptom with CFS is exhaustion/fatigue which is observed in almost all sufferers, this fatigue is not normal fatigue which is felt by a healthy person who has just done too much. When a person suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sometimes just getting out of bed and making it through the day, without doing any activities causes them a great deal of fatigue. Other symptoms also include, memory lose, dizziness, sore throat, depression, tender lymph nodes and sleep disturbance. |
