La fin du Regime Tzariste et Communiste

Serge Schmemann

In later years, the communists created a myth around the " Great October Revolution", depicting it as a momentous uprising of peasants and workers against their oppressors. But as I followed it through the stories of those who lived it, the revolution always seemedmore a collapse of the old order than its overthrow, much as the Communist regime subsequently collapsed of exhaustion and bankruptcy rather than because of anything the west did.
