Gameplay
The gameplay of Parasite Eve is just like no other game ive ever played, I would say that it is a mixture between the  Resident evil series and Final Fantasy series.  All of Manhatten (The main game area) is fully rendered like the backgrounds of Resident evil and Final Fantasy series, Which makes the game look great.
In Parasite Eve you only ever control one person and that is the heroin herself Aya Brea, but she is not the only person in the game though, there are loads of other people in the game to help you along your journey after the mysterious Eve.  She might be by herself during the game but Squaresoft have given her some mighty fine weaponary and armor to help you through the game for instance the game contains a rocket launcher for you to get your paws on and any game that contains one of those baby's is a mighty fine game in by books;).
The Battle System
Now that i have mentioned that the game looks like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy 7 your probably thinking to yourself that it is going to play exactly like them but you are completly wrong, Fair enough the characters from the game are designed in sort of the same way as the characters from Resident Evil, but this game plays completly different.
Those of you who have played FFV will recognise the AT bar which when built up lets you know that it is time for Aya to let rip with those guns of hers.
Go to the
Downloads section to download some movies that show the battle system.
Movement During Battle
During battle while you are waiting for Aya's AT metre to build right back up you dont have to stabd there like milk bottle and let the enemy attack you like on FFV you can actually move Aya around the batle screen to avoid incoming enemy attacks which i thought was a really good feature in the game
Also when you attack, your acuracy is not based on stats like other RPG games on Parasite Eve when you go to attack an enamy a green dome surrounds your character simulating a range, and if the enemy is in the range you can hit the enemy when you attack.
The closer the enemy is to your character the greater the chance and force you hit them.
If and enemy is outside of the range then it will be around 9 times out of 10 that you will miss the enemy.
The PE bar (Parasite Energy)
The PE bar is basically another name for magic, Aya starts off the game with the ability to heal herself 30 HP, this can only beused when she has anough PE to cast the spell. The bar goes up constantly while in the battle.
You gain new spells with the more EXP you gain during the game, Their are spells such as scan (like off FFV) and a spell that reminds me of haste which speeds you up for a period of time.
The PE powers come in extremely handy because you dont have to mess on with using potions to heal yourself like in the Final Fantasy series, and Herbs like in Breath of Fire.
