Brian looked down at his watch. Okay, that was it. He'd given her an hour since she'd been in treatment, and Rose still hadn't come to his room. And that could only mean one thing. She was dtiching him. Standing him up. Leaving him sitting there looking like an idiot. Unless something had gone wrong! Maybe she was hurt! Maybe the doctor messed up the treatment. Or maybe there were some un-predicted side effects. He hopped up off his bed. All thoughts of her sitting in her room laughing at the fact that he was in his room, wating like a fool for her, and thoughts of her lying on her bed, trying to call him but not having the energy to pick up the phone consumed him. As stupid as he knew he was being, he all but sprinted down the hall to Rose's room. "Rose!" He called, banging on the door. "Rose!" From her place in the bathroom, Rose could barely hear Brian's shouts. But she made out her name being called, and she slowly lifted herself to her feet. Dizziness passed over her, but she leaned against the wall till it was gone, then opened the bathroom door. "Come in." She called. Brian threw the door open. He took one look at her, leaning against the wall with out any color in her face, her wig not on her head, looking worse than he'd ever seen her, and he ran to her. Placing on hand on either side of her face, he looked deep into her dark eyes. "Rose. Are you okay?" Rose mananged a smile. "It's just a side effect." She whispered, but Brian couldn't help but notice how she leaned towards him, like she couldn't support her own weight. Brian put one hand around her waist and the other on her shoulder, and he walked her to her bed. Rose smiled greatfully at him, and lay down. Once Brian was sitting beside her, she spoke again. "Don't worry." She said. "This happens every time. And once this passes, I'm gonna be stronger than you've ever seen me. I just wish you didn't have to see me like this." She said, reaching one hand up and touching her head. Brian looked away from her face, and up to the bald head above it. He'd never seen a bald girl before. And he'd never imagined that he'd ever see one who looked so beautiful. He leaned down and kissed her head. Rose giggled. "I'll be okay in a few hours. Come back around. . ." she glanced at her clock, "seven." Brian still looked concerned. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay? I can get you something. . ." Rose shook her head. "I need to sleep this off. Then I'll be fine." She promised. "Go hang out with your friends or sometihng." Brian smiled at her. "Okay, if that's what you want. I'll see you at seven." He said. "Bye." He left her room, but not before her fluffed her pillows, and tucked a blanket around her. Rose smiled after him. So he did care after all. Someone actually cared about her. Even more, someone who happened to be the most beautiful famous millionaire she'd ever met cared about her. Even without her hair! She didn't remember the last time she'd heard something that made her quite this happy. Not since her cancer diagnosis, atleast. She looked at the clock. It was 4:06. Which meant she had two hours and fifty-four minutes until Brian came back. She smiled. What a wonderful week this was turning out to be. First there was Brian, and then there was Brian, and then there was Brian. . . Rose was still smiling as she drifted off into a blissful, dream filled sleep. |

I've never met a girl who made the sun smile at me I've never met a girl who made the sun smile down. I've never met a girl who parted oceans with her smile. I've never met a girl who turned my life around. I never thought I'd say the words I always longed to tell someone, Never thought I'd ever see the day, When I'd finally meet the girl who keeps the whole world spinning, Finally meet the girl who can kiss my tears away. And now I'm holding her And I"m kissing her, If only in my mind. But I know I'll be holding her, And kissing her In my arms sometime. |

"Hey, Nick?" Brian asked into the white phone reciever when he heard Nick pick up. "Hey, Bri!" Nick covered the mouthpeice for a minute. "You guys, it's Bri." He called. "So what's up?" Brian grinned. "I just wanted to tell you thanks. For coming after my surgery. And for staying. Tell everyone else, too. I just wanted to say thanks." "Oh, uh, okay." Nick said unsurely. "I'll see you later then." Brian said quickly. "Bye." He hung up the phone. Nick stared at the cell phone in his hands. He looked behind him at the three other Backstreet Boys.
