NEWS/ UPDATE 20th January 2001

All gig updates now happen here. Feel free to post your details as I can't always keep it up to date on my own....

NEWS/ UPDATE 9th January 2001

Happy new year, hope it's better than 2000. I've decided not to do a long-winded review of the year as everyone else has done one by now, and I didn't have a particularly brilliant year anyway. No real updates as such, as I'm actually on holiday until the 18th of Jan, but a major overhaul is planned when I get back. There is one lot of gigs I'm missing when I'm away and that's Winter Sprinter.
Track and Field and the Sausage Machine have organised three gigs to beat the traditional January gig drought. Nine bands over three nights at the Toynbee Hall Arts Cafe (Commercial St, nearest tube Aldgate East). Tonight (Tues 9th) has Lincoln + Birdie + Ant (Hefner), Wed 10th has Tompaulin + Kicker + Gospel Oak, Thurs 11th has January + Airport Girl + Saloon. You can buy a pass for all three gigs for £10, or else it's a fiver for each one.

NEWS/ UPDATE 17th December 2000

Added today.... Gig reviews of Add N To (X), All Scars, Black Heart Procession, Echoboy, Go Betweens, Bright Eyes and Godspeed You Black Emperor!

NEWS/ UPDATE 3rd December 2000

Down Memory Lane!
With the launch of Slow Thrills on the horizon, and almost three years after the final issue of my previous zine Weedbus, I have been doing some work clearing out the Weedbus homepage. I was pleasantly surprised by the individual page impression statistics - clearly people were digging deeper than Radiohead and Pavement! Our top five are

  1. Built to Spill
  2. Tindersticks
  3. Catpower
  4. Make Up
  5. Gallon Drunk

At the other extreme were Chi, Cuckoo, labradford, Navigator, Salaryman and Skunk Anansie, who haven't been visited in the last six months!

NEWS/ UPDATE 27th November 2000

OK, I've been very bad, but I've been busy redesigning the site for a proper launch in the new year. I've even bought domain names and everything! I've also been piloting broadcasts and we're not quite there yet, but this should sorted soon. Gig reviews of the Go Betweens, Add N To X, Bright Eyes, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Black Heart Procession, etc, are imminent. Meanwhile wait for our major changes in January.
