La Parguera boasts a family-friendly atmosphere. This section of Puerto Rico is MAGNIFICENT -- boasting miles of Natural Mangroves in the Caribbean Sea to swim in and explore. La Parguera is a popular resort center with a lovely small town "Hemmingway" atmosphere: Colorful vacation villas, seafood restaurants, water sports shops, boating centers and small shops fan out from the seafront plaza. There are deep sea fishing charters available by day and in the evening, boats leave regularly for the nearby Phosphorescent Bay, where millions of luminescent dinoflagellates light up when disturbed by movement; moonless nights are best. Beginner through advanced level snorkelers and scuba divers frequent here to explore nearby reefs and spectacular outer shelf walls that lie up to seven miles offshore. On the weekends the town becomes more bustling with live outdoor music, open-air specialty kiosks, dinner/dance shows, and much more. The atmosphere is informal and comfortable.
