Agenda for Change


1. RCSLT officers and members of RCSLT met with Colin Adkins and Sarah Carpenter from Amicus- MSF on 19 February 2003.

2. At this meeting, it was agreed that RCSLT would host a meeting which would aim to:

i Verify the current job profiles undertaken by Amicus- MSF for SLTs using the factor plans. Members to assess the profiles and identify if any aspect of the job profile has been assigned too low and if so why. (A proforma and information to be provided by Colin Adkins)
ii Identify any gaps in the current profiles by Amicus- MSF and send appropriate job descriptions to Colin Adkins along with contact details to support the profiling of these jobs. (Bring to the meeting job descriptions/ profiles of jobs, reflecting the current career structure for SLTs and support workers - see paragraph 4 below)
iii Identify how the early implementer sites can also support identification of gaps and concerns

3. Attendees at the meeting:

i 1 representative from each of the early implementer sites
ii Managers in those services that represent the breadth of the SLT career structure, including those who did well from the recent re-grading.
iii Key SLTs in the higher bands that may be under threat.

5. Further work (in April), agreed with Colin and Sarah is that we establish a small working group to pull together joint guidance to support implementation of agenda for change. RCSLT officers will include the CEO, SLTs to date include:
