| About:
Based out of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Slut Factory Records is a low budget whatever we feel like releasing label. Money that comes in goes toward releasing more stuff, sending out packages, promotions, running the occasional show and sometimes to buy food since dead people can't run this thing (although being dead would up our grim cred!) The name is a silly name for a sometimes strange label. If it offends you, then chances are you will hate what we release and it has served it's purpose as a warning.* SFRecords is a hands on DIY experience of awesome! We mainly deal with releasing CD-Rs and although we do release some factory manufactured CDs, rest assured that all the packaging is still put together with love and care using our hands. We are not committed to just one genre of music and the musical tastes at SFRecords have a tendency of wandering off into weird places on any end of the musical spectrum, and of course we don't neglect anything in between while on the epic journey though space and time. Submissions: The best way to get onto SFRecords is to be friends with SFRecords. The best way to do that is to contact us and say hi, come out to our shows, show us support and prove you are a totally radical dude! We are very picky when it comes to choosing who to release and this method just makes it easier and more rewarding for us. We like helping friends. Sending a demo of your tunes is also a good first step in letting us know you are awesome. We will not listen to online demos and we will not accept mp3s in our mailbox, they will be deleted. Jamming our inbox is just plain rude and will likely end in us thinking your an asshole instead of a cool dude. On that note if you are looking to piss us off, we ask that you find a more originally way then spamming us with shit mp3s (which may be really good mp3s in reality, but we will never know 'cause we aren't going to listen to them!) We want to release physical copies of music, so we ask that we receive physical copies to work with. It just shows us that you care and weeds out a lot of lazy people in the process as well. Trades: We are not against trades but we also have to stay within our designated budget. Trading is very situational here and because of the budget timing can also play a factor. Also, room is scarce here at SFRecords HQ so we have to be picky as to what we trade for. Most importantly you have to be offering something of interest to us. *Fun fact: We have learned in our travels that in Scandinavia the word "slut" means "end" i.e. at the end of a movie instead of saying "the end" or "fin", their movies will display the word "slut" across the screen. |
