Re: Progress report on writing the manuscript and completing the research project in Biol 3920.

Dear Dr. Morgan:

I am pleased to inform you of the recent progress in the current research project being developed under your leadership in Biology 3920. The project is set to be completed by December 5, 2003.

The attached progress report outlines my status on the project. In the progress report I have included a description of the work, a summary thus far, a list of figures,  overall appraisal of the project, and a schedule of remaining tasks.

I am confident that this project will be done on time, and will be of utmost quality. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at the above information.

Sincerely,

Sarah W. Dobbins, Undergraduate student in Biology/Health Sciences

Project Summary

The genetic condition of myotonia involves the muscles of the affected individual; in this case, the individual is the myotonic, or fainting, goat. Through measurements of height, weight, length, circumference, and body fat, muscle mass will be estimated and compared. I expect to find the muscle mass of the myotonic goat larger than the muscle mass of the non-myotonic goat.

The objective of this research is to determine the effect of myotonia on muscle mass; the projected result is that myotonia will cause an increase in muscle mass due to the increase in stimulation.

Problems Encountered and Actions Taken

A problem has been encountered with the Tripod website. It is unreliable and hard to update. Therefore, my website has been moved to a different free hosting service which can be accessed by means other than Frontpage and has so far been very reliable and efficient.

Appraisal of Progress to Date

Progress to date has been satisfactory, and I expect the work to continue as such.
