In Hiram, Maine
(Where in the world is that?)

Welcome, friends!

Here we are, Angel and I, in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.  How lucky we are to be able to say it's in our own backyard.  There's nothing like climbing the mountain to watch the sunrise over the ponds, or to sit on the porch swing at night and listen to the coyotes howl to the Moon.  Life is heavenly in Hiram!  Our nearest neighbors are almost a mile in any direction and the stars shine so bright we can see outside without using lights.

Dreams DO come true, friends.  The only difference between a dream and a goal is what you're doing to make it happen!  This was our dream, and we made it our goal:  To find a piece of land to save from the developers, build a log cabin and let the rest remain wild.  This beautiful mountain, Small's Mountain (named for its first settler) was about to be purchased by a sand & gravel company.  They planned to blast the mountain to make crushed rock for roadbeds.  Thankfully the people of Hiram fought against it and won.

When it went up for sale again, Roy spotted it in the paper.  This was mid-December, so the only way we could go see it was on snowshoes.  The forest had been cut hard, and in the winter it looked sad and bare, but we knew it was a special place from the moment we set foot on it.  We were able to purchase the whole mountain for less money than a few acres would have been nearer town, and we built our cabin on her knee.

We moved in officially on October 31, 2001 (that's New Year's Day for some of us!) and have been smiling ever since. --- Eleda

It's been a year, can you believe it?  We were married on May first, 2003.
Check out the wedding photos, as well as pictures from our reception and honeymoon.
I love to create!  Whether it's a portrait, a sculpture or a woodcarving, you'll probably find me working at it.  I am a horseperson through and through, so much of my work is equine in nature, but not all of it.  If you'd like to see some of my stuff, visit my Art Page.

All my earlier work was done just for fun, but I've decided it wouldn't hurt to make a bit of money from it, so I made the decision to go professional.  But how to get into the professional world???  Well, soon after I made that decision our company announced that it would be sponsoring a big art show for charity.  What better way is there to break into the world of professional art than by doing a piece for charity, I thought!  So I found a sponsor and went to work painting one of the ten-foot-tall lighthouses that will be on display throughout Southern Maine this summer.  How does one paint a ten-foot-tall lighthouse in an eight-foot-high garage?  You can check it out on my
Lighthouse Page.
Roy has found a talent for writing poetry.  (Who knew!)  Eventually I hope to post some of his poems here, but I must convince him first....
And of course, Angel deserves her own page, too!  She's our White German Shepherd :-)
Someday I'll give our pup Night his own page, too.
In 2004 we opened a web shop to sell all the things we couldn't find when we were buying for our handfasting.  It is called Triple Mountain Magick, named after our wonderful mountain home, and can be visited at www.TripleMountain.com
or
www.TripleMountainMagick.com
In our spare time we can often be found playing Everquest.  We have friends from all over the world now -- isn't technology amazing?  We play on Vazaelle and I serve as Guild Leader for the Sure Valor guild, which has over one hundred and fifty members.  Here are some screenshots from EQ.
Thanks for coming!  We hope you enjoy your visit to the mountains.
