HOWIE GOT OUR NAME

(I slipped out of my normal Nick mode to
write this. i had an intellegent moment.)
See, once upon a time (or sometime last year) Katie and I started to like the Backstreet Boys. It all started when I saw them on the Disney concert, and despite my formal great disliking to boybands and cheesy pop stars, I started to think "hey theese guys are funny" and kinda cute too. this all came as a major shock to me, because I used to hate them and my type of music was much different than what they sang (more Johnny Noname type stuff) But the fact that even I started to like them, to me, proves even more their ... um, power, or whatever you want to call it, don't you think? well back then i was kind of ashamed to be referring to "the backstreet boys" in public, and me and Squash had already given nicknames to each seperate boy. And, due to my catch phrase then and now - "Kin-ky!" we came up with.... "Da Kinks." Which worked out fine for us until we discovered there's an old 80's group called THE Kinks who had a hit song "You Really Got Me Now". Therefore, it is extremely important for us to retain the "Da." Thus, we have now, our nickname for them... Da Kinks.
And I thought we should add a little explaination about our motto, slogon, whatever; "Even those who are famous can still be wack." See, on a 1998 MTV special Da Kinks had a countdown of their top 40 favorite videos. Kevin gives some random information, and Brian and Howie bust out into this "Kevin knows his... Kevin knows his.. Kevin knows his MTV!" then Kevin looks into the camera with this classic, WTF look on his face and says,
"That was wack."
We went freaking hysterical over it.
So.... now you know.
AND AS FOR THE TITLE OF OUR WEBSITE...
In case you haven't noticed, we like the word wack. And... the Boys are wack. So we figured it would be a great name. We say it all the time anyway. And then... we always tease Kevin for saying "thing" and we say thing a lot too... voila, the WACK THANG. end of story.
