Samuel Cumminger Will
Registered October 13th 1881 on the oath of John A. Kirk Esq a subscribing Witness.
This is the last Will and Testament of me Samuel Cumminger of Cross Roads St Mary’s County of Guysborough and Province of Nova Scotia.
First I will and bequeath unto my son Jesse Cumminger all my right title and interest in the homestead farm on which we now live, the said Jesse Cumminger to pay my four daughters Elenor Nelson, Jinnie McIntosh, Agnes McQuarrie and Sarah Cox the sum of twenty dollars each.
Secondly My land near Fisher’s Mills to be sold by my executors and the proceeds to be applied towards erecting suitable tombstones over graves of my late wife and my own, and over the graves of the late Thomas Glencross Esq and his wife providing those whose duty it is to do so refuse to erect the same in their memory the balance, if any, to be paid to Catherine Cumminger the wife of my son Jesse Cumminger – the said Catherine Cumminger is to get my walnut round table My bed and bedding and bedstead is to be given to Margaret Margaret Sarah Cumminger daughter of my said son Jesse Cumminger and also the said Margaret Sarah is to get my Bureau. The said Jesse Cumminger is to get my wagon and all the other implements of Agriculture and tools of every description of which I am possessed the said Jesse Cumminger to pay my just debts.
I nominate and appoint my son Jesse Cumminger and John A. Kirk Snr to be my Executors.
I the said Samuel Cumminger have to this my last Will and testament set my hand and affixed my sig (the rest of the word is cut off by Xerox) this twenty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty.

Signed and sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said testator to be and as his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto.
