One
of the city's most remarkable landmark is The Belfry. You can climb the 366
steps of the winding staircase to the top for a great panoramic view of the
city. The Belfry's carillon (47 bells with a total weight of 27
tons) is one of the finest in the world. Concerts are played on it three times a
week.
St.
John's hospital is one of the oldest hospital buildings still existing in
Europe. It was built in the 13th century and remained an operational hospital
until 1978. Today it is a museum.
