Have you ever seen someone in danger? Maybe it was someone who wasn't looking and was about to be hit by a car. Maybe it was a young child who was about to spill a pot of boiling water. What did you do? If you're like most of us, you probably warned that person. "Watch out, there's a car coming!" or "Careful, that pot is full of hot water and you'll get burnt!" You didn't want to see that person hurt or killed. It is a gift of God's grace that most of us do not desire to see other people suffer pain.

I am writing this message to you because I do not wish to see you suffer pain and eternal death. Yes, I truly tell you, unless you repent from your sins and believe in Jesus Christ, you are in grave danger. How do I know this to be a fact? The Bible is God's revelation to all men. Therein we find God's words, we hear God speaking to us (2 Timothy 3:16). Since the Bible is a true representation of what God says, we ought to listen very closely.

In Psalm 7:11-13 we read the following: "God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day. If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts." Do you understand what this text is saying? God is angry with those who sin. God is righteous and holy and cannot stand the sight of sin. It makes Him very angry. He demands that sin be punished--with eternal death (Ezekiel 18:4).

You and I are both sinners. Everyday we continually sin against the law of God. We hate people around us. We covet what others have. We lust and commit adultery in our hearts. Yes, "none is righteous, no not one." (Romans 3:10). How then can we escape the wrath of God against sin? Can we do something to make up for it before God? No, for we continually pile up our sins. We cannot pay for what we have done through any of our good works (Ephesians 2:8). But God has provided the way: Jesus Christ. Christ said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by Me." (John 14:6). Jesus was a true and righteous man, one who could pay for our sins (Hebrews 2:17). At the same time He was true God, so that He could bear God's wrath against sin for our sakes (Romans 8:3,4).

But the redemption which Christ accomplished does not belong to everyone. Christ did not die for each and every person that has ever lived. It was certainly sufficient for all, but it is only efficient for some--those who are God's elect, God's chosen people. Those who repent from their sins and believe in Jesus Christ are numbered among God's chosen ones (Ephesians 1:5-7). Repenting from sin means having a change of mind about sin--it means hating and fleeing from it. Believing in Jesus Christ means placing your faith in Him for your salvation. If you truly believe in Jesus Christ, there is nothing which can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:38,39).

If you do not believe in Jesus Christ dear reader, know full well what awaits you. God's wrath against sin is unquenchable. It burns hotly and fiercely, ready to consume all those who have not believed in the Son of God. We read in Hebrews 10:31 that "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Further in Hebrews 12:29 we are told that "Our God is a consuming fire." Understand what this means: God requires payment for your sins. If Jesus Christ has not paid for your sins, no one can and you will experience the worst torture imaginable--utter separation from God and horrible physical torment. Believing in Christ means eternal life--unbelief leads to eternal death and torment in the lake of fire which God has set aside for Satan and all those who still wallow in the filth of their sins (Revelation 21:8).

Reader, pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the gracious gift of faith in Jesus Christ. Ask God's Spirit to work in your heart the faith and repentance which is necessary for salvation and know that it is not your faith which will save you, for only Christ Jesus can do that, but faith is only the means by which salvation is freely given to God's children (Ephesians 2:8). Do not delay. Danger is near. This may be the last warning you receive. We can never know when we will be called up to the judgment seat of God. I plead with you, do not delay--pray now, repent and believe that the Son of God died for your sins, sins which deserve death and eternal punishment. Eternal joy and life awaits those who do believe (Luke 23:43).
