NEW MEMBERS

We have two new members to the SMK site this week!

First up we have a new recruit by Sébastien Pereda, it is his cousin also from France, Laurent Meissel. Laurent has made a really fast start to SMK entering at King G standard overall and #27 on the PAL Players' List already! A couple of his times are already in the Legends!

Our second new member is from the U.S.A. His name is Andrew Livingston and has recently picked up his SMK Time Trialing again after many many years to start improving again. So far he has run through each course a few times and drove some great records! So far he has reached Elite F overall standard and #39 on the NTSC Players' List.

UPDATES THIS WEEK

A bit less in the update this week but some very active players submitting new records!! Simon Laflamme went to hit some great new stuff on Mario Circuit 3 with two WRs of 1'30"40 and 0'17"93!! He can se the potential for a sub 1'30" and a slightly faster lap in the future, so we may see him return here. Archibald Lefevre made himself famous this week on trying out some of the tricks, which don't cut off any SR points, but are extra optional tracks to try out. He even hit PAL WRs on the VL2 trick of 0'53"19 and 0'04"83!! He hit some other nice PRs including Legend times for KB1, GV3, DP2 and DP3. His other great achievent for normal driving on VL2 was finally a complete full speed race with hardly any mistakes! Check out his time on his profile.

Lars Nouwen has been going mad this week with PRs! He must have PR'ed on almost every course. His target was to reach the Elites, and he did so in style!! He has been hitting many Elite times and even King times so far! Not only is this guy in the Elites, but already Elite D overall and has passed 9 players on the PAL Players' List to reach #34! Andrew Kent hit some more records including cutting down of his MC1 time to a very low 1'02" and a lap under 12"30! He definitely has the potential for a sub 1'02" time now. His other PRs helped a bit also to lower his SR down some more. He currently continues to make his way to King C and Ademir Cortes. Dan Hooper cut of a few SR points this week, enough to reach King C overall and #17 on the PAL Players' List. His PRs were on MC3 and MC4.

Paolo Petriella had a busy week with SMK to try and improve many Star Cup times! He PRe'd on almost every course there with Legend times and a GOD time! He is now pretty close to passing Steven Zwartjes for #7 on PAL. We will see next week. Thorsten Fellberg has now decided to update his own profile which saves a bit of time for me. He has managed to improve the record of Germany on MC1 to a near sub 1'02" along with 6 other nice Legend times to go in. He cut down his SR score a bit further with his new records. Raphael Braun improved on BC2 this week only, but it was enough to get 7 SR points down and a move up the PAL Players' List to #10 in the World!

NEW PR UPDATES THIS WEEK

It looks as though the karters this week went for a great number of PRs! Many of them improved greatly on the Players' Lists, and climbed many positions. It was indeed a great battle for the POW! Michael Jongerius has really made himself famous this week with many new records, but the greatest part was his first PAL WR!!! This took Sami Çetin's 5-lap record on DP2 with a new 1'28"53! He also made a great lap, along with many other new records. VL2 cut off a lot on the SR, and he even made GV1 2/5 jump! It was a great week for him as he reaches Legend E and #7 on the PAL Players' List. Archibald Lefevre karted a bit more on those trick times. He improved some more WRs! KB1 trick lap is down to 0'04"59, and his VL2 trick is now down to 0'04"27. Paolo Petriella has been in competition with Jongerius. Although Jongerius passed him, he is not far behind! Now #8 after losing a position but passing Zwartjes, Paolo continues to make his way to Legend E Overall. He has been spending countless hours karting, we will see what he comes up with next week!

Andrew Livingston, our recent entry from U.S.A has made many new records all round, some King and even Legend times! He has some serious potential and is following in the footsteps of some of the best NTSC SMK players for sure! His overall standard shot up from Elite F to Elite A, he is also only a few points away from King. We look forward to hearing of his progress next week! Thomas Harrington has almost made himself champion of U.S.A with all his new records this week! They are all looking really good now, including his improved GOD times! A few more points and he will not only be U.S Champion, but also Legend C overall! Simon Laflamme improved his two MC2 records this week to GOD times and made a slightly faster SR. He is now almost half way to a -3.000 SR!

Nothing is stopping Lars Nouwen! He has been knocking down all of his lower standard and is driving towards the Kings. After sorting out the remainder of his weaker times and improving some others, he will be in the Kings, as he is already Elite B overall standard now. Wouter Wynen, the SMK Champion of Belgium has returned to improve his PRs. He has the ability to be in the Kings, but has been karting his way through from Master A at the moment. He has hit PRs on many different standards, but still has races left to try out, so we will see more soon. He is currently at Elite E overall. Thorsten Fellberg is now pretty close to King C overall, after submitting 7 new records, all of which were King times and one Legend on KB2 5-lap. Maybe within a few weeks we may have a new Champion of Germany, but we will see how things go.

SUPER MARIO KART UPDATED NEWS!

Sami Çetin's update, 20th December 2001

NEW PAL MEMBER

We have a new PAL member from France this week, Matthieu Cruypenninck. Matthieu has sent in all of his times which put him on the PAL Players' List at #49 and a Pro D overall standard! A few of his times are really fast, those being on races like GV1, but especially MC1! It was also written in his e-mail his Date of Birth which turns out that it is today! So happy birthday to you Matthieu and welcome to the site!

PAOLO PETRIELLA

It has been found out this week that the player Paolo Petriella does not exist, and that all his times are fake. Raphael Braun helped to make this problem clear, and now Paolo has been completely removed from the site. There is nothing else that needs to be said about the subject except that any player who does send in fake times or with a fake identity sending in false times will be immediately removed. Hopefully we do not have a similar incident happening again.

UPDATES THIS WEEK

Quite a few nice records sent in this week, and some super WRs again from our NTSC Karters! Thomas Harrington has now become Champion of U.S.A with his latest PRs! He has hit a fast BC1 WR on the 5-lap and a ridiculously fast 1-lap WR! The times were 1'27"76 and 0'17"28!!! He has now also reached Legend C as a result! We thought that Stanley Jeram was unbeatable on CI2, but we were wrong! Simon Laflamme made a very consistent 5-lap WR along with an even better lap! The WRs now stand at 1'07"31 and 0'13"33!! Hue Le improved 29 SR points with a pair of KB1 PRs and is now almost King E overall. We look forward to more of his accomplishments!

Michael Jongerius is at it again with some more crazy Legend times! This week he showed how dangerous he is on BC1 with a nice sub 1'30"! His MC2 1'17" time is also improving further. He is now right behind Gerard Roodhorst on SR Score. Once he passes him, he will be the new Dutch SMK Champion! Andrew Kent has further continued his quest for #1 in Australia, and we now have to tell Ademir to chek his rear mirrors because Andrew Kent has reached King C overall just ahead of Franck Mazières! Andrew made a lot of important records, including new records of Australia! Lars Nouwen didn't hit as many records as the previous week but has still been going strong with some King times even! The rest of his lower standards are one by one disappearing as he lands on Elite A overall! By the next update, or the one after, it is certain that Lars will be in the Kings! Serge Ludescher has been competing against Lars now as they are in the same standard, with Serge having a slight lead. Serge made 9 PRs this week including super Legend times on KB2!!

Raphael Braun hit the BC courses this week to see how much damage he could do. 5 Legend times and one GOD time were the result, so it was a good week for him. He has also landed exactly on the Legend F overall standard at 6.000 SR, which is another nice achievement! Archibald Lefevre sent in 3 great PRs, including some spectacular DP2 times in an attempt to follow the success of Jongerius, and an improved KB1 lap record! Archibald is now slowly nearing Legend B overall, but still some more points to go. Dan Hooper sent in 5 PRs in his attempt to start making his way to King B. A few of his times were even in the Legends which he was happy with!

UPDATES THIS WEEK

A lot of PRs sent in once more this week in SMK Time Trials! Simon Laflamme is hitting the craziest NTSC WR after another as he this week hits CI1 5-lap near the 58"00 barrier..... with his new 0'58"05! He came close also to the 1-lap but just missed it. He made a nice set of GOD times on VL1 to go with it, but still has more room there, it is not his favourite of courses which is why it held him back from a chance at the WRs. Simon wasn't the only Canadian Karter playing this week, we had a return from Kent Marten, who sent in some PRs and landed on Master E and #47 on the NTSC Players' List.

There were two karters this week who sent in PRs which weighed a tonne each! By that i obviously mean that they went to chop big amounts of their SR off with each PR! Andrew Livingston of U.S.A improved his Elite times nearly all to King times, he had a little trouble on DP1 but with his potential it looks as though he can follow many of the other great NTSC Legend karters soon! He is now King D overall and #18 on NTSC! Matthieu Cruypenninck done the same thing, sending in the biggest improvements on nearly all courses, VL2 of which cut the most! He has gained a much higher position on the PAL list now with an Elite F overall standard and a #40 placing on the PAL Players' List! Hue Le also karted with some nice quick improvements on MC1 and a few others, he has now passed Ron Cooper and reached King E!

Lars Nouwen impressed us all once more with his latest PRs! These included Legend times for GV2! Lars has now joined the Kings in PAL SMK at King G and #27 on the PAL List! Michael Jongerius has also made a name for himself at finally becoming #1 in the Netherlands in SMK! He sent 9 PRs in, of which were all very fast, and he has not only passed Roodhorst, but also Gava and L'Hoëst for #4 on the PAL List and Legend D overall! Mike Groels also returned this week to greet us with 6 new PRs and an SR score closing in towards Pro A. He told us he would try to reach the Masters by 1st January 2002. We will see!

François Mangeol from France has returned also to send in a lot of new records, some of which cut quite a lot from his SR score. He is now a King E overall karter and has passed Thibault Ludwig on the PAL List for #22. Archibald Lefevre only cut 1 SR point off this week, but he made a nice few records anyhpow including a sub 1'00" on KB1 and a pair of Legend C times on BC1! Champion of Belgium, Wouter Wynen also had a fair share of PRs to challenge others this week, they were enough to help him climb to Elite D and #34 on the PAL List ahead of Peter Elsässer (Champion of Austria). Dan Hooper drove two impressive PRs on KB2, the lap of which is a GOD time!! His BC3 lap is now Legend G, so it looks certain that he will rise to new levels in the SMK standards pretty soon!
